Day 37

Day 37 of the selfie challenge: 365 Days of Momma

It’s Sunday! AND! I have the day off!!!!

That’s right, its my weekend off… I firmly believe that having to work every other weekend makes me that much more appreciative of the ones I have off.

This morning Liam took off after breakfast, grabbed a book and his teddy bear, and then proceeded to set himself up on the couch next to me to “study” with me.  That’s right, I used the “s” word.  Someone though it would be a brilliant idea to take a full course load in the summer during the most gorgeous weather of the year because the semester is shorter and it would be nice to just get the work done with.  The same someone is now incredibly worried that maybe, just maybe, she might not be able to keep up.  I don’t know who comes up with these brilliant ideas but they probably should have less of them.

So the adorableness ensued this morning and Liam and I studied together for about 10 minutes before my urge to snap a picture completely overcame me.  Of course as soon as I picked up the camera phone he had to climb into my lap to get it…. The result is this:

Today’s selfie is less of me and more of us, but it is an awesome memory that I want to hold on to…. especially with the puppy photo-bomb in the second shot!

 

I do promise an update soon on my personal progress towards self acceptance of myself in photographs.  This project has turned into more than I originally planned.  What started out as something that was just for me has also evolved into a mechanism to show Liam my memories from his early childhood.

Tonight we are going out on the town with some friends in downtown Dover NH to a new craft brew place called the Thirsty Moose. They have over 60 beers on tap here… I am loving it. Tonight I am starting with a North Coast Old No. 38 Stout. It is light for a stout, but delicious.

After a morning full of momma an baby dance offs and snuggles I haw actually managed to get Liam and I cleaned up and ready to go with time to spare… Amazing.

And now it’s off to the hang with Aunty Moonshine for Liam and work for me!

Day 21

Day 21 of the selfie challenge: 365 Days of Momma
Today is a work day 😦 not that it has been an exceptionally hard week and I do really love my job! It just has been so nice being on a “normal” schedule. A schedule where I am gone during the day time and home for dinner with my family every night. Another year of school and hopefully I can have that 9-5 Monday through Friday dream job!
The selfie today is a quick snap shot as Liam and I share lunch this afternoon before I head out to work!

We have a packed weekend planned! With family coming to visit and a trip to the Somersworth International Children’s Festival planned so let’s hope for a good night at work with no one becoming exceptionally ill so I can get some sleep before the weekend begins!
If not let’s hope for lots and lots of coffee.

Day 20

Day 2o of the selfie challenge: 365 Days of Momma

Today was another day of IV class.  The hubs was home from work, so after taking my test I had some Momma time and got to go shopping for fun by myself…. it was so nice.

So I went to the mall (because it is air conditioned and it was in the 80’s outside today) and used my Birthday gift from The Loft to get a new dress.

Every once in a while getting out by myself is exactly what I need.  The dress looking awesome on me was a nice little self esteem boost too!

Day 17

Day 17 of the selfie challenge

Today Liam woke up at 5:30 for the day…
So I decided to seize the opportunity and try to get my errands done for the week. We did a pretty good job, except for the part where I forgot to buy bread at the grocery store.

Tonight I even managed to squeeze in some quality video game time with the hubs. Yes we are so nerdy we have our gaming computers in the same room. We have been a little Diablo 3 obsessed lately.

Day 14

Back at work, and rocking one of my favorite pairs of scrubs…

I realized I had yet to take my selfie today while eating multiple servings of spaghetti…
I have a love affair with pasta… It’s definitely in the top five favorite meals.

I totally had planned to take a picture of Liam and I wrapping up the Hub’s present for Father’s Day, but Liam inconveniently dumped the bowl of dog water over his head while my hands were full and while staring me dead in the eyes as I told him “no”…. This may be foreshadowing behaviors that could crop up in the future with him. Sigh*

Day 13

So here I am… At day 2 of my IV course… Exhausted. Math makes me tired. Actually, let me rephrase that; I love math, but repetitive math because sometimes people have trouble learning it makes me tired.
I get math, I have a hard time waiting for other people to get it too. So today I decided to take my heavy eyes to Dunkin Donuts for lunch.

I am really not sure this is going to help the situation. It just might make me fidgety and exhausted at the same time, which is always bad news.

Did you know that statistically people perform better in mathematics in the morning? This afternoon will certainly be… Interesting. Wish me lots of luck.

Day 12

Day 12 of the selfie project: 365 Days of Momma
Good Morning! We have been up since the (horrific) hour of 6:30 am today… I suspect I should be thankful it was that late… The days of waking up every 2-3 hours were not all that long ago. Liam has successfully managed to exhaust the puppy brothers already this morning with vigorous games of fetch with the “bawllls”. The puppy brothers are pretty impressed with how well their training of Liam to be a ball throwing machine is going 🙂
And now for the couch snuggles (Momma’s favorite!)

As promised a bigger story and a “check in” will come later in the day when I am at a real computer… I just couldn’t help but share how “not amused” Fenway was that I was snuggling that close to him, lol.
